Prescott, AZ (AZFamily) A woman was killed Friday after being thrown from a vehicle that went off a cliff near Prescott.
Around 5 p.m., deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office received a report of a vehicle that had gone off a cliff along Sambut Road, about two miles from the intersection with Copper Basin Road.
Officers found the vehicle about 1,000 feet down a steep mountainside.
After descending the mountain, officers found the driver of the vehicle, identified as 39-year-old Christine Little, who was thrown from the vehicle about halfway down the mountainside and died.
YCSO flew a drone in the area and used a DPS Ranger helicopter to search for other victims, but did not find anyone.
Due to the rugged terrain and dark surroundings, YCSO remained with Little until Saturday morning, after which he was transported to the coroner's office.
YCSO said Little was driving north on Sam Butt Loop Road when he veered left, causing his vehicle to go off the road and roll down a mountain. The accident remains under investigation.
