Flagstaff, Arizona (AZ Family) — Police are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a vehicle during a traffic stop in Flagstaff on Monday.
The woman was identified as 38-year-old Sandy Singer. Tonaleaapproximately 160 miles northeast of Flagstaff on the Navajo Nation.
Around 3 p.m., Flagstaff police received a report of a man placing an unresponsive woman in his vehicle. Beulah Boulevard and drives off. Several minutes later, officers located a vehicle matching the description provided approximately two miles north of the original location.
Police stopped the car at a nearby motel. Milton Road and Butler Avenue There, they found an unresponsive woman inside. Officers attempted life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was questioned and released, according to Flagstaff PD. Since then, investigators have executed multiple search warrants, processed evidence and conducted numerous interviews.
The case is currently classified as a suspicious death investigation, and police have not said whether they believe foul play was involved.
