Woman suspected of stabbing her parents in the Village of Oak Creek

A woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing her parents Saturday morning, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office.

According to a statement from authorities, Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in Oak Creek Village in Sedona around 5:30 a.m. A sergeant found the suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Lauren Levinson, in the street near the home and took him into custody.

When the sergeant entered the home, he found Levinson's mother and father suffering from multiple stab wounds. The mother had a stab wound in the back and the father had a stab wound in the arm, authorities said. Levinson's brother, who was at the scene, assisted the sergeant and administered life-saving measures to the mother and father.

Authorities said the Sedona Fire Department responded to the scene and continued rescue efforts. Levinson's mother was airlifted to Flagstaff Medical Center's trauma center, while her father was flown to Verde Valley Medical Center. Their conditions were unknown as of Sunday afternoon.

Yavapai County Sheriff's Office detectives and evidence technicians are investigating the incident, officials said.
