Journalist Mark Halperin mocked Democratic strategist Tim Hogan for trying to answer his questions while playing the role of Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris has reversed many of the far-left positions she espoused during the 2020 presidential election, but has yet to fully address the policy shifts she has made since launching her campaign on July 21. 2-wayHalperin had Hogan impersonate Harris while answering questions about the Green New Deal, then described the Democratic strategist's responses as “a string of words.” (Related: Kamala Harris once thought a border wall was “un-American.” Now she supports it.)

“Some of the Democrats I've spoken to — not you, others — have said she hasn't had a primary, she hasn't had a caucus, she hasn't had a town hall meeting, she hasn't had any serious interviews or follow-ups, and that may be what causes her to lose the election,” Halperin said. “That's not my issue. Tim, you can't tell me what position she takes on sex reassignment surgery for people who are in the country illegally. You can't tell me what position she takes. You can tell me what she answered in the ACLU survey, if she answers honestly. You can't tell me what her aspirations are on the Green New Deal. You can't tell me. You're listening carefully.”
Hogan said Harris' support for the Inflation Beat Act was consistent with the values of the Green New Deal when she was first interviewed in person.
“You're Kamala Harris, are you ready? … The parts of the Green New Deal that you supported and that AOC, Ed Markey and Bernie Sanders have put forward that haven't become law yet, do you still want to see them become law?” Halperin asked.
Hogan said the question was “too broad,” but Halperin disagreed and asked the same question again.
“Mr. Vice President, you sponsored a landmark bill that you said is essential to saving our planet,” the reporter said. “Which provisions of that bill that you sponsored that haven't yet become law would you like to see become law?”

“She'll say, 'My values haven't changed on climate change or how to advance a clean energy economy,'” Hogan responded as Harris. “'The path that I helped pass as vice president is the Control Inflation Act.'”
“The answer is, would you rather have oil and vinegar or ranch dressing?” Halperin joked.
“I don't know what that means,” Hogan said with a laugh.
“It's a jumble of words, that's what it means,” Halperin said. “It's a jumble of words.”
