Yankees’ Isiah Kiner-Falefa Showcases Unbelievable Speed By Stealing Home In Wacky Subway Series Inning Against Mets

Holy cow! speed!

What happens when you mix the speed of New York Yankees infielders? Isaiah Kinner Falefa And will it be an unfortunate turn of events for the Mets?

You get chaos, beautiful chaos.

That’s exactly what happened during Wednesday night’s Yankees-Mets Subway Series game, a strange turn of events that ended in a steal at home in the seventh inning (yes, at home).

The Yankees and Mets tied the game in the top of the seventh at Citi Field before Kinnell Falefa came to bat, and things got a little out of control from there.

The Mets brought Jeff Brigham to the mound, and the Yankees put pinstripes Josh Donaldson on a walk to second base with one out and Anthony Rizzo on first base after being hit by a pitch.

Kineru Falefa made contact and handed the ball to shortstop Francisco Lindor on a ground ball, and Lindor returned the ball to Jeff McNeill and was out. McNeil tried to catch Kinnell Falefa but was unable to, and his throw to first baseman Mark Vientos missed wide. Vientos kept his feet on the base as he pounced on the ball. The ball went off the glove and into the Mets dugout, where Donaldson scored a run from an error to give the Yankees the lead.

But that’s just the beginning of things.

The Yankees’ next hitter was Billy McKinney, who then had Kiner Falefa as runner on second base. Then Francisco Alvarez made an error and threw the ball into center field, allowing Kinel Falefa to advance to third base.

But my husband was not happy. No no no. (Related article: Minnesota Twins’ Christian Vazquez hits groin during game against Milwaukee Brewers)

Kinel Falefa took a massive lead as Mets pitcher Brooks Larry and third baseman Eduardo Escobar were far from the bases. When Kinel Falefa reached about halfway down the line, he sped toward home plate. Larry’s pitch eventually went high and hit the backstop, allowing Kinel Falefa to home safely (and show off his incredible speed) to give the Yankees a 3-1 lead.

And here are some interesting stats about this whole ordeal: This was the first home stolen base for the New York Yankees since Didi Gregorius achieved Didi Gregorius. August 2016 against the Baltimore Orioles.

Just crazy stuff.
