Yavapai College Announces Accounting and Entrepreneurship Concentration for BSB Degree

Yavapai College has announced the addition of two intensive courses to its Bachelor of Science in Business degree.

The Accounting and Entrepreneurship Concentration has received full accreditation approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and will be available to students when registration opens on April 17.

The BS in Business degree features three concentrations that students can choose from. The Accounting and Entrepreneurship Concentrations join the previously approved Organizational Management and Leadership Concentrations.

The Bachelor of Science in Business with Accounting Concentration is a degree program that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the accounting profession. The program focuses on developing financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, and tax skills, as well as analytical and critical thinking abilities. Students also learn how to use accounting and data analysis software, prepare financial statements, analyze financial data, and prepare budgets. Graduates of this program can pursue careers in areas such as accounting, finance, auditing, tax preparation, and consulting. This program also provides a foundation for transitioning to the Master’s level Certified Public Accountant (CPA) track program.

The Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship Intensive Business is a degree program aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to start, manage and grow their own business ventures. The program focuses on developing the innovative and strategic thinking, leadership skills, financial management, and marketing strategies necessary for entrepreneurial success. Students also learn how to identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, develop business plans, and manage the risks associated with starting and operating a business.

Organizational management and leadership

The Bachelor of Science in Business with a Concentration in Organizational Management and Leadership is a degree program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in leadership positions in a variety of organizations. The program focuses on developing effective communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as understanding organizational behavior, human resource management, and ethics. Students also learn how to develop and implement strategic plans, manage teams, and lead change initiatives. Graduates of this program can pursue careers in management, consulting, human resources, and leadership roles in a variety of industries, including healthcare, finance, technology, and nonprofit organizations.

120-credit Bachelor of Science in Business Degree:

  • It is intended for new students, current students, and graduates. It is open to those who have just graduated from high school, who do not have college, or who already have an associate’s degree in any field.
  • Offered entirely online.
  • Full-time students can complete the traditional pattern of 30 credits per year. This will take him four years to complete or must be completed part-time. Students who transfer credits can complete much faster.
  • You can also complete it in an 8-week class, significantly reducing your time to completion. 8 week classes start in August, October, January, March and June
  • Incredibly affordable when compared to other bachelor’s degree options. A student pays $155 per credit for advanced course in-state tuition.
  • We use Open Educational Resources for the majority of our classes, so there is no cost for textbooks for students.
  • There is no associated student fee.
  • Credit breakdown:
    • 31 credits of the General Education Requirement
    • 44 units of subdivision requirements. This is an introductory business course or credits transferred from another degree, program, or university to your degree.
    • 30 credits for higher division requirements on 300 and 400 level courses
    • and 15 credits for the concentration chosen by the student
