Yavapai College Faculty Recognized as Leaders in Workforce Development

Katherine Anderson Recognized for Workforce Development Achievements

Yavapai College is pleased to share that Katherine Anderson, who serves as the career services manager at the college’s Center for Regional Economic Development (REDC), has been honored by the Arizona Economic Development Association (AAED) with the title of Workforce Practitioner’s Order of the Year.

Acknowledgment at Spring Conference

This award was presented during the spring conference in Tucson as part of AAED’s annual Excellence in Economic Development Awards.

The Workforce Practitioner of the Year Award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing Arizona’s workforce, focusing on community impact, innovative practices, and collaboration at the local level.

Katherine truly embodies these traits. Some of her recent accomplishments include:

  • Launching a new Career Services webpage aimed at improving job resource accessibility.
  • Coordinating some of the largest job fairs in northern Arizona, connecting numerous job seekers with potential employers.
  • Building partnerships with national job platforms to enhance local employment efforts.
  • Facilitating work preparation programs like mock interviews at local rehabilitation centers.
  • Leading workforce education sessions for organizations such as Pahra and Local First Arizona.
  • Playing a pivotal role in the creation and execution of industry-specific expos.

Influence Across the State

Katherine’s influence extends throughout Arizona. Her positions include vice-chair of the AAED Arizona North Committee, leader of the Yavapai County Economic Resources Union, and state co-chair of the Arizona Women of the Association of Higher Education.

It’s worth congratulating Katherine for this recognition, reflecting the impactful nature of her work in workforce development, community advancement, and economic growth within Yavapai County and beyond.
