As a result of consecutive district runner-up, Yavapai University Men’s Soccer The team is looking forward to announcing their rookies for the 2023 season. The Roughriders will add 16 newcomers to their roster in addition to nine returners, bringing the roster to 25.

Nate Claudio | Midfield | Freshmen | Yuma, Arizona

high school: Claudio graduated from Cibola High School in May 2023. As a senior, he led the team to the playoffs with his 10-6-2 record, recording 7 goals and 12 assists, earning regional Offensive Player of the Year and All-State First Team honors.

Personal: Claudio was born on February 2, 2005 in Yuma, Arizona. I plan to major in business in the future.

Arthur Koskus | Next | Year 2 | Ile de France, Paris

high school: Koskas graduated from Assumption de Lübeck in June 2021.

Before Yavapai: Before becoming a Roughrider, Koskas attended Canyon University.

Personal: Koska was born on May 5, 2004 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Ile-de-France, France. Her hobbies are playing sports and listening to music, and she plans to major in business in the future.

Jorge Quintero | Forward | New Students | St. George, Utah

high school: Quintero graduated from Dixie High School in May 2022. During his high school years, he led his team’s scoring in consecutive seasons, earned Regional MVP and All-State First Team honors, and was top scorer in 4A and top five in state assists.

Personal: Quintero was born on March 16, 2004 in West Covina, California.

Joseph Miranda | Forward | New Students | Tucson, Arizona

high school: Miranda graduated from Walden Grove High School in May 2022. He captained the team, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, earning him Regional Player of the Year and Regional Attacker of the Year honors.

Personal: Miranda was born on November 22, 2004 in Tucson, Arizona. Her hobby is camping, and in the future she plans to major in business and pursue a career in real estate.

Austin Dorsey | Goalkeeper | Freshman | Prescott, Arizona

high school: Dorsey graduated from Prescott High School in May 2023 with an award for excellence across all regions.

Personal: Dorsey was born on November 9, 2004 in Prescott, Arizona. Her hobbies are fishing, bowling and hiking. In the future, she plans to pursue a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

Anthony Cananisho | Midfield | Freshman | Ontario, Canada

high school: Kananisho graduated from Saint-Jean-de-Breboeuf University in June 2023. While he was in school, he earned soccer MVP honors while being on the honors roster.

Personal: Kananisho was born on April 28, 2005 in Canada. His hobbies are soccer, table tennis and baseball.

Carlos Rodriguez | Midfield | Freshmen | Chino Valley, Arizona

high school: Rodriguez graduated from Chino Valley High School in May 2023. While in Chino, Rodriguez played four years in varsity football, leading the team to state championships in his junior and senior seasons, scoring in each semi-final match and one state title game.

Personal: Rodriguez was born on November 4, 2004 in Prescott, Arizona. His hobbies are going to the gym and dancing. He wants to be an architect in the future.

Eric Chiralte | Defender | Freshman | San Luis, Arizona

high school: Quilarte graduated from San Luis High School in May 2023. As a senior, he led the team to a 16-1 record with 12 shutouts and four goals, and earned Jeonju First Team and Jeonju Academic First Team honors.

Personal: Quilarte was born on August 7, 2005 in Yuma, Arizona. He likes going to the gym and plans to eventually major in biology.

Miguel Medina | Midfield | Freshmen | St. Johns, Florida

high school: Medina graduated from Bertram Trail High School in May 2022.

Personal: Medina was born on January 7, 2004 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He likes to exercise and dreams of becoming a doctor in the future.

Gael Castro | Midfield | Freshmen | Yuma, Arizona

high school: Castro graduated from Cibola High School in May 2023. He captained the team in his senior year and scored seven goals and had four assists before earning First Team All-Regional honors.

Personal: Castro was born on July 8, 2005 in Yuma, Arizona. He likes going to the gym and plans to major in civil engineering.

David Murillo | Forward | New Students | San Luis, Arizona

high school: Murillo will graduate from San Luis High School in May 2022. As a senior, he led his team to the state quarterfinals, scoring nine goals and four assists, including a hat-trick in the first round of the state playoffs.

Before Yavapai: Before becoming a Roughrider, Murillo attended Arizona Western College.

Personal: Murillo was born on October 9, 2003 in Yuma, Arizona. He loves car detailing and plans to complete his associate’s degree while at YC.

Luis Medina | Forward | New Students | San Luis, Arizona

high school: Medina graduated from San Luis High School in May 2023. As a senior, she led her team to the state finals, where she tallied 16 goals and 16 assists, earning First Team All-State and First Team All-Region honors.

Personal: Medina was born on September 27, 2004 in Yuma, Arizona. He likes going to the gym and plans to study radiology in the future.

Geo Orozco | Defender | Freshman | Orem, Utah

high school: Orozco graduated from Timpanogos High School in May 2022. During his time there, he earned All-Regional First Team honors twice, qualified for the Far West Regionals, and went undefeated in P1.

Personal: Orozco was born on September 18, 2004 in Provo, Utah. He enjoys working out and listening to music, and plans to pursue a business major in the future.

Gabriel Jimenez | Midfield | Freshmen | St. George, Utah

high school: Jimenez graduated from Dixie High School in May 2021. He was captain during his senior year and led the team to first place in the district tournament with a record of 13-4.

Personal: Jimenez was born on June 9, 2003 in St. George, Utah. His hobbies are playing video games, sleeping and reading. While at YC, I plan to complete an associate’s degree in business.

Isaias Santiago | Midfield | Freshmen | Phoenix, Arizona

high school: Santiago graduated from North High School in May 2023. He captained the team as a senior and led the team to their first playoff appearance in five years, scoring four goals and providing 16 assists.

Personal: Santiago was born on May 20, 2005 in Phoenix, Arizona. His hobbies include making music, hiking, and car maintenance.

Cody Kercher | Midfield | Freshmen | Ellicott City, Maryland

high school: Karcher graduated from Centennial High School in May 2023. As a senior, he tallied 18 goals (top in the county) and nine assists, earning him Player of the Year, All-State First Team, and All-Metro First Team honors.

Personal: Karcher was born on September 19, 2005 in Baltimore, Maryland.
