Yavapai College Sedona Center Presents “The Doorway to Art” Exhibit by Francis Leon Beegle | Arts & Entertainment

Yabapai College’s Sedona Centre will feature an inspiring art exhibition featuring the work of skilled local artist Francis Leon Beagle.

A doorway to art, running until March 5th and May 15th, allows visitors to experience an exciting and stunning work that reflects the artist’s deep connection to realism and naturalism.

Francis, who was painted in art from an early age, was first fascinated by pencil drawings. Eventually, she expanded her repertoire and included oil and pastel paintings by studying the techniques of great masters to better understand atmosphere, light and colour. Frequent visits to the museum continue to inspire her, as well as mentoring from respected artists such as Don Landz, Harold Nelson, Christine DeBrosky and Derek Penix.

A dedicated member of the Prescott Arts community, Francis works for the Mountain Artist Guild, serving as a board member and education coordinator, and volunteers to teach multiple classes at the Phippen Museum of Art. Her passion for Plein Air Painting is further enriched by her involvement with Plein Air Artists and continued artistic development through workshops and podcasts.

“My paintings reflect my experiences, whether it’s collected from overseas trips, visits to other states, or the beauty just outside my back door,” says Francis. “Every photograph tells the story. I aim to take my audience on a journey and evoke emotion and light through my work.”

The exhibition will be open Monday through Thursday, from 8am to 5pm at Yabapai College Sedona Centre, 4215 Arts Village Drive, Sedona. This showcase highlights artists who are members or instructors of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) or Yavapai College community education program.

Art lovers are welcome to attend a special artist reception on Wednesday, March 5th from 1pm to 3pm.
