Yavapai College announces Bachelor of Science in Business. The announcement was made at a press conference held today at the YC Prescott campus.
The degree will begin registering this April for classes starting in the fall semester of 2023.
This is the first undergraduate degree offered by a rural community college in Arizona. In May, Senate Bill 1453 was passed into state law, allowing community colleges in Arizona to offer bachelor’s degrees.
“We are thrilled to have received this accreditation after years of hard work in this state. We were at the forefront of this,” Yavapai College president Lisa B. Rhine, PhD, said at a press conference.
she said: Transform your life instantly, reach a higher job level, raise your wages, start something new, grow your current one, and most importantly, be unburdened by financial or travel burdens. We want our students to graduate from YC and stay in Yavapai County. ”
A Bachelor of Science in Business focuses on organizational management and leadership, which most people in all professions can find valuable. Concentration prepares students to become effective leaders of the workforce as managers, supervisors and team leaders.
Diane Ryan, Ph.D., Vice President of Academic Affairs, oversaw the development of the degree and spoke about the academic details of the degree.
“This is a modern, high-quality degree. The curriculum will be 120 applicable credits specifically designed to help students achieve career success,” said Dr. Ryan. . “I applaud all the efforts our faculty and staff have put in to make this day a reality. I am overjoyed by the opportunities our students have now.”
