Yavapai University is seeking a Dean to lead the Academic Affairs Department. This transition follows Dr. Diane Ryan’s decision to step down.
Dr. Janet Nicks, chief human resources officer at Yavapai University, will identify companies to conduct a national survey, and a timeline for that process will be announced soon. In the meantime, each member of the university’s executive leadership team will assume some of the duties and responsibilities of the academic affairs department in defining and implementing the process.
“This was a surprise and unexpected decision. I respect Dr. Ryan’s decision to move on. We see this as a timely opportunity to continue moving forward in a positive direction as the university seeks new leaders in academic affairs,” said Yavapai University President Dr. Lisa Line.
Over the past five years, the Department of Academic Affairs has made significant changes, including expanding its use of open educational resources, which provide students with free textbooks and resources, and earning the university’s first Bachelor of Business degree.
Yavapai University operates six campuses and centers in Yavapai County, offering over 100 degrees and certificates, bachelor’s degrees, student and community services, and cultural events and activities.
