Community Notification Regarding Sex Offenders

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is required to share certain information as per ARS 13-3825, which relates to the Sex Offenders Act. This notice addresses offenders who reside in various areas of Yavapai County. The local law enforcement agency, where the offenders live, is tasked with informing the community. Each time a sex offender is released from the Arizona State Jail or returns to the community from county jail, a notification must be made. Offenders are categorized into three risk levels: Level 1 (low risk), Level 2 (intermediate risk), and Level 3 (high risk).

One individual mentioned in this notification is 51-year-old Roger Wright, who was convicted of a sex crime that necessitates community notification. He has reported his residence to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office as 20187 E Mingus Dr, Mayer, AZ 86333.

Wright was convicted on October 12, 2005, in Kent County, Delaware, for fourth-degree rape and received a five-year sentence from the Delaware Department of Corrections. He also has a history of a failure to register, which occurred on August 25, 2011, when he was sentenced to two years in prison for that offense.

It’s important to note that this notification is not meant to incite fear. The intention of the sheriff’s office is that better-informed communities lead to safer environments. Using this information to intimidate or harass a sex offender is not acceptable.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office encourages the public to utilize the sex offender registration and notification programs accessible through their website. This allows individuals to input a local address and receive a list of registered sex offenders residing within a mile of that location. Furthermore, the registry provides details about specific offenders in Yavapai County and includes a free email notification service alerting subscribers to any offenders near the specified address.
