Yavapai County, Arizona — Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center has reached an agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona to continue to offer in-network insurance to its patients.
The two parties had continued negotiations after Blue Cross withdrew compensation at Yavapai County’s largest hospital earlier this year.
The news of the termination caused much confusion among Yavapai County patients who feared having to travel long distances to receive non-urgent care.
Blue Cross previously said the termination of the contract would affect only about 20% of its customers in Yavapai County.
However, the hospital announced Friday that it has signed a new network deal with Blue Cross, effective April 1.
YRMC President Anthony Torres said in a statement: “After months of negotiations, we are very pleased that Arizona’s Blue Cross Blue Shield has agreed to a new agreement that puts patients first and preserves local healthcare. think.
Blue Cross Chief Medical Officer Dr. Cara Christ said that standing up for the company’s members “has always been a priority for us.”
Patients with questions about their new policy are encouraged to call the number on the back of their insurance card.
