YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The second week of April each year, telecommunications personnel in the public safety community are honored.
This week-long event is a time to celebrate and appreciate the “headset heroes” who respond to emergency calls.
Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) dispatcher Brad Burch says his job is to keep calm in the storm when he talks to people on the worst days of their lives.
YCSO has stated that apart from the strength and gentle nature required of a dispatcher, they have a genuine love of helping people.
Acting calm under pressure is part of the routine of helping others.
YCSO and other local agencies are looking to fill vacant contingent positions and will be attending a statewide recruitment event at the Yuma Maine Library on Saturday, April 15 from 10am-2pm To do.
Stop by local dispatchers such as the Rural Metro Fire, Yuma Police Station, Somerton Police Department, San Luis Police Department, Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, and Arizona Western College.
