Agents say they contacted the man
Yuma, Arizona (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) is investigating suicide and violent threats on social media that have been shared across the community and caused concern for several people in Yuma. I said yes.
The YCSO said it received reports of threats last Sunday.
Agents investigated the incident and notified local law enforcement of these potential threats.
YCSO said the man was contacted and questioned by agents and investigators.
According to YCSO, it has not been able to verify a legitimate threat to the community.
Still, the YCSO said Thursday that the public will be notified if there are legitimate threats identified by the office.
YCSO said the original posts were from April 6th and April 11th. A threat shared on News 11 mentions downtown his Yuma and other mentions of the shooting.
Agents say they are working with state, local and federal partners and mental health resources to ensure that this investigation exhausts all available resources.
