YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A search has concluded for a 20-year-old man who has been missing since Monday.
According to a recent press release from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO), 20-year-old Yuma resident Brian Vazquez was found dead near Cocopa Bend RV Park.
The YCSO said kayakers in the area reported seeing Vazquez’s body east of the RV park.
Local agencies and medical examiners involved in the search also responded. YCSO said it has notified next of kin.
Bryan’s stepfather, Christian Lewis, said Bryan was “always kind and willing to take off his shirt to help others.”
Remembering Brian through memories is now important to family and friends alike.
Bryan’s former teacher Heather Holliman echoes how many felt Bryan “was like a bright light in our classroom”.
The search for Brian was coordinated by multiple agencies, including Border Patrol, Yuma Fire Department, and Customs and Border Patrol.
