YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) has issued a Level 2 Sex Offender Notice to the Yuma community in this area.

William Anderson, 60, was told he lived on Block 13,200 on East 40th Street in Yuma, according to the YCSO.

YCSO also stated that Anderson is 6ft 1in tall, weighs 210lbs, has brown hair and brown eyes, and is not wanted by YCSO at this time.

In the notice, Anderson pleaded guilty to two different counts in two different county courts.

  • February 23, 1990: In San Diego County Superior Court, Anderson pleads guilty to one charge of sexual assault. The victim was a 7-year-old girl he knew. Anderson was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for five years.
  • January 10, 2000: In Yuma County Superior Court, Anderson pleads guilty to one count after failing to register as a sex offender. As a result, Anderson was sentenced to 30 days in prison and two years of supervised probation.

The YCSO further said Anderson is a Level 2 offender with a moderate risk of reoffending and the notice was not intended to increase fear. Rather, YCSO believes that an informed community is a safer community.
