YCSO Issues Community Notification for Registered Sex Offender Now Residing in Cornville, AZ | Prescott Valley Times local news







The Yabapai County Sheriff’s Office must publish the following information in accordance with ARS 13-3825, a community notice regarding the Sex Offenders Act: The offenders in this publication indicate that he lives in an unconsolidated area of ​​Yabapai County. This is the responsibility of the Chief Law Enforcement Agency with jurisdiction to which offenders reside in order to notify the community. Notifications must be given if a particular sex offender is released from Arizona State Jail and accepted under an interstate compact or released back to the community from the county jail. Offenders can be divided into three levels: Level 1 (low risk to the community), Level 2 (intermediate risk to the community), and Level 3 (high risk to the community).

The individual featured in this notification, 76-year-old Michael Taylor, was convicted of a sex crime that enabled community notifications. The sex offender advised the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office to live at 60 N. Brightway, Cornville, Arizona.

On November 2, 2010, in Yabapai County, the 61-year-old offender was found guilty of child abuse, attempting to abuse a child and seducing minors for sexual exploitation. He was sentenced to 10 years with the Arizona Department of Corrections and Lifetime Probation. The victim was a 13-year-old woman and was known to criminals.

This notification is not intended to increase fear. Rather, it is the sheriff’s office’s belief that informed communities are safer communities. Abusing this information to threaten, threaten, or harass a sex offender is not tolerated.

The registry also provides information about certain sex offenders registered in Yabapai County.
