The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public to identify and locate suspects in a high value gas theft case from Mountaineer Gas State in Peoples Valley. Between last evening Sunday and early Monday morning, one of the suspects broke into two of her pumps and disabled a device that monitors fuel delivery, officials said. When a pump is tampered with in this way, people can pump large amounts of fuel that is not registered as having been pumped. The two suspects filled three different trucks with diesel and unleaded gasoline. Her first two trucks consisted of a flatbed in silver and his two models in white. The suspect then pulled a red pickup truck over and filled it up. Estimated gas losses were $6,390 for him, costing the station owner about $3,000 to repair the pump. Yavapai Silent Witness offers bounties of up to $600 for information leading to an arrest (in this case, an arrest).
