You Won’t Breathe Until ‘Twisters’ Teaser Clip Is Through

The trailer for the upcoming film “Twisters,” released Thursday, will fill your mind with storm-inducing fears and your head with storm-inducing terrors in less than a minute.

scene, share This story from Nerdist begins with the characters Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos walking towards something that looks nothing like a real cloud, but is still pretty cool. Called “The Birth of the Tornado,” this story is actually something we should all be taught in school, especially those of us who live in tornado belts.

As the scene continues, the cast describes how a tornado forms in the sky, “pulling up tons and tons of warm, humid air,” Edgar-Jones continues, “and when that warm air and moisture breaks through the cap, it explodes in the atmosphere, forming an anvil,” as Glen Powell cuts in to mansplain, “The vertical wind shear starts to spin the updraft, forming a cyclone.” (Related: Footage of what appears to be tornado damage caused by Hurricane Beryl)

Despite all this knowledge, we still don't have a clear answer as to how tornadoes actually form. But when they do form, they're pretty spectacular right before they destroy everything in their path.

“Twisters” hits theaters on July 19th, but I can't wait to see it. Unlike 99% of the movies coming out this summer, this is definitely one that's going to get me in a sweaty, smelly movie theater.
