They were looking for search terms used by travel “enthusiasts” and words typically associated with travel. According to the press release, “we combined the search terms to calculate a total travel score for each state and discovered the most and least travel-obsessed states in America.”

The survey found that people in Washington state had the lowest interest in travel and the lowest total travel score of 392. It also found that Washington state has the lowest number of Google searches for the term “cheap hotel” in the country, and the fourth lowest number of searches for him.
