‘You’re Going To Stew In Your Own Juices’: Victor Davis Hanson Breaks Down How Trump’s Strategy Made Iran Collapse

Victor Davis Hanson appeared on Newsmax on Monday to discuss the impact of President Donald Trump’s strategic approach, saying he dismantled Tehran’s powers and left the administration in a state of humiliation and collapse.

Trump ordered strikes at three Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday night, warning of further action if Iran targets US troops in the region. When he appeared in “Rob Schmidt Tonight,” Hanson said Iran’s overwhelming retaliation marked a shift from the former “terrorist colossus” in the Middle East.

“I think the right simple is that Trump now with the peace deal has sort of put them in a pot, turned up the heat, put the lid on. And said ‘You know what. You’re going to stew in your own juice because you’ve got to go back now and tell the Iranian people that you blew a trillion dollars on Hezbollah, Hamas, the Assad dynasty, the Houthis and defenses and mountain nuclear subterranean projects, and it’s all gone,’” Hanson said.

Hanson said Trump’s peace deal effectively locked Iran into failure.

clock:

“You have to explain, and we have peace now. And you can’t hold back anything, and you will simmer in your own juices in your own juices. And when you try something, you know what this will happen to you, you don’t have terrorist tentacles anymore, and you have no defenses anymore, so we can always hope,” Hanson said.

According to Hanson, the peace deal left the administration with a limited option.

“They ran and raw in the pot, they put the lid on themselves because they had no choice. The option was that they had no nuclear cards to deal with in this poker game. “But that doesn’t mean that in the coming months it will be easier to explain to the American people why they put them in poverty, anemia and humiliating terrorists, and the regime itself.”

On June 12, Israel attacked Iran’s nuclear program and several senior officials, prompting a counterattack from Tehran the following day. After considering further action, Trump said on Saturday that the US military had successfully achieved three Iranian nuclear weapons. In retaliation for a US airstrike, Iran reportedly launched an attack on U.S. Air Force Base in Qatar on Monday, reporting to launch a missile at Iraq. Prior to this attack, the US had promised to respond with additional strikes if it targeted American troops in the region.

Trump announced Monday that Israel and Iran have agreed to a ceasefire. The announcement comes just two days after the US targeted Iranian nuclear sites, and the ceasefire is expected to take effect in a few hours.
