YPD offer up to $30,000 reward to arrest of arsonist

Yuma — Yuma police are offering up to $30,000 to anyone with information about four 2021 arson incidents at buildings under construction.

2021-19985: Our first case occurred on April 7, 2021 in the 700 block on 21st Street. This is an apartment complex under construction and three apartments have been demolished.
2021-32857: The second case occurred on June 9, 2021 at block 6500 of lane 32. This included his three homes under construction. All three were completely destroyed.
2021-34552: A third case occurred on June 18, 2021 in the 200 block of S. 2nd Avenue. This included a commercial building under construction. The frame of this building was completely destroyed.
2021-57690: A fourth fire occurred on October 16, 2021 at Block 3300 of S. Avenue 8E. This involved housing under construction. This structure has been completely destroyed.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office had one arson incident involving three buildings under construction in 2022.

2022-51192: This case occurred on June 12, 2022 at Block 10200 of South Orion Avenue. This included his three homes under construction. All three were completely destroyed.

The Yuma Southwest Contractors Association provided a $10,000 bounty, Elliott Homes provided $10,000, and was provided by the Arizona Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention and the Arizona Chapter of International Assn. of Arson Investigators offers up to $10,000 and 78 CRIME offers up to $1,000 rewards for information leading to the arrest of suspects in these cases.
