Yuma, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The latest development of the Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) will provide a wide range of medical services to Eastern Yuma County.
The YRMC emergency department will open at 8am on Wednesday, July 26th, followed shortly by the outpatient clinic on Monday, July 31st.
As part of an effort to improve the availability of medical services throughout the region, Foothills Medical Plaza will provide a wide range of services to residents of East County.
The new medical plaza was designed with the aim of creating an environment where patients can receive a full range of services in one place.
The two-story facility will offer emergency services, primary care, pediatric care, women’s health services, podiatry, imaging services and a retail pharmacy.
There is also a cafe in the hospital, where patients and their families can spend their time comfortably.
Every three years, YRMC conducts a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) that analyzes regional and statewide data and, more importantly, incorporates feedback from over 700 Yuma area residents.
A common theme in past evaluations has been the need for comprehensive care options in East County.
“When East County residents voiced their desire to improve access to more accessible primary care services, we realized that we must not only meet but exceed them. As we cross the finish line, I can confidently say that we are proud of what we have developed and are making it available to the people and communities who have inspired it,” said Dr. Trudy F. Milner, YRMC Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.
The clinic portion of the Foothills Medical Plaza will focus on three major areas of primary care: family medicine, pediatrics and women’s health.
It also offers podiatric care and plans to expand to specialized care next year.
Clinic appointments will be available from July 26th (Wednesday).
