Criminals continue to get off to a great start to season and remain undefeated in home opener – Luis Lopez reports from 13 On Your Side
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma Criminals baseball came out of the blazing gates. After going 4–0 in the Cowboys’ Up Tournament in Tucson, the Criminals got off to a great start with a victory in their home opener.
The Criminals beat the Peoria Panthers 4-0 in their home opener at Doan Field on Tuesday.
Tuesday was a change of pace for the offense, which scored 55 runs in its first four games.
Yuma was shut out in the first five innings as the pitchers were able to keep the shutout.
Then, in the sixth inning, Crims reached home plate four times, thanks in part to a two-out RBI from Deben Aguirrevarena.
Yuma hopes to continue his impressive start Wednesday as he makes his way to Deer Valley to face the Skyhawks.
