Yuma City Council approves $473M tentative budget unanimously

YUMA, AZ (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma City Council has approved a budget of approximately $473 million for the next fiscal year.

Last night, approval was obtained by overwhelming unanimity.

The budget includes a capital improvement program totaling $216 million from 2024 to 2028.

Acting City Administrator Jay Simonton explained how the road tax will also help a future multimodal transportation center at the former Del Sol Hotel in downtown Yuma.

The interim budget has a cap of approximately $473 million, funds can be transferred and transferred, but not more than that amount.

The Public Works Department has 92 projects.

Some of them include various road improvements throughout the city.

The final budget will be adopted at the next city council meeting on June 21.
