YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Class of 2024, get ready to party!
The Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition will be holding this year's Graduation Night event on Friday, May 24th at 11pm at Desert Sun Stadium, following the conclusion of graduation ceremonies across Yuma County.
This event is free and open to all Yuma County alumni.
“We are excited to celebrate [our graduates]”They're going to have a lot of fun on the field,” said Joan Fizer of the Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition.
It's been 10 years since Yuma County hosted a graduation night event for all Yuma County students.
Pfizer explained why this event is so important to our community.
“We are excited to bring this event back,” Fizer said. “Our graduates deserve to be celebrated safely. Graduations here in Yuma County are so much fun, and we want to create a safe environment for our students to participate.”
The Yuma County Anti-Drug Coalition is hosting this year's event with support from sponsors Yuma Optimist Club, Earl Jones Insurance and Yuma Regional Medical Center.
“It's been amazing to see the community support come together to make this all happen,” Fizer said. “It's so important that our graduates graduate with a bang.”
The theme of the event is glow in the dark, and there will be 3,000 actual glow-in-the-dark T-shirts for the graduates, as well as a foam party in the middle of the field.
Students will also receive free prizes throughout the evening, including bracelets, necklaces, glasses and headbands.
More than 150 raffle prizes will also be given away to graduates that night, with everything from bikes to gaming chairs to computers to 50-inch TVs being given away.
Gates open at 11pm on the Friday night after graduation and the party ends at 3am.
Congratulations to all students entering in 2024!
