YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – Yuma Scholarship Organization titleholders recently returned from Miss Arizona, where they were awarded several prestigious prizes. It was an exciting 10 days in Mesa, Arizona for Miss Yuma County, Miss Yuma County Teen, Miss Ocean to Ocean, Miss Ocean to Oceans Teen, Miss Sunshine City and Miss Sunshine Cities Teen.
Miss Sunshine City, Isabella Nichols, and Miss Ocean to Oceans Teen, Riley Reesland, both received the People's Choice award, guaranteeing them a spot in the top 11, plus a $100 scholarship and an ASU scholarship. Miss Sunshine City, Faith Braithwaite, received the Sisterhood award, also receiving a $100 scholarship. Finally, Yuma County Teen, Eliana Wells, was the runner-up for Miss Arizona's Teen, winning a $600 full scholarship to Western New Mexico University and a President's Scholarship to Arizona State University.
The Yuma Scholarship Organization has already begun recruiting for the next Miss Yuma County pageant in November. Applications are open to young women between the ages of 13 and 28 who have lived in Yuma for at least six months. The first interest meeting will be held at Gabi Marshall Photography Studio on July 15th at 7pm.
