Yumans can apply to receive free solar panels that make drinking water

SOURCE Global received state subsidy to install two ‘hydropanels’ in 850 homes

YUMA, Arizona (KECY, KYMA) – An Arizona-based company manufactures solar panels that produce clean drinking water and now wants to install them in your backyard for free.

Even in dry climates, water vapor is present in the air around us.

Source’s Hydro Panels capture that air and turn it into about 10 gallons of drinking water per week.

“Our aim is to ensure that everyone has access to clean drinking water,” said Ylenia Aguilar.

Source Global reported to the Yuma County Board of Supervisors on Monday.

With a state subsidy, they installed two hydroelectric panels for free on 850 homes throughout southern Arizona.

The panels harvest sunlight to generate electricity, which is then used to spin a fan that draws water vapor from the air and turns it into clean drinking water.

“Typically, two panels can produce about three to four 24 packs of water per week,” says Tom Bones.

Mr Borns said that in order to receive the panel, applicants must prove that they are in a water scarcity situation or do not believe that drinking water is of good quality.

Adequate space is also required to install the panels.

“You only need about 80 to 100 square feet and a line with a clear view of the sun,” Bones said. “But luckily here in Yuma, Arizona, we have a lot of sunshine, so we have the opportunity to see the sun.” Make plenty of water every day. ”

Anyone in Southern Arizona can still sign up for a free panel on Source’s website. Link.
