Yuma’s mayor says the state of the city is strong

Yuma Mayor Doug Nichols delivered his 10th city address Thursday morning.

YUMA, Arizona (KECY, KYMA) – Yuma Mayor Doug Nichols delivered his 10th municipal speech this morning.

The Good Morning Yuma Breakfast at the Chamber of Commerce brings together more than 100 longtime Yuma residents and business owners, as well as new faces in the community.

Mayor Nicholls says the thing he’s most looking forward to as mayor of Yuma is interacting with the city.

“I don’t want to get stuck in a bubble. I really want to know what everything is,” said Nicholls.

Members of the Yuma County Chamber of Commerce gave a brief presentation on the business on stage.

Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Karl said he appreciates the good relationship the city has with Mayor Nicholls.

“He does this for us every year, and we appreciate him for his time in the business community,” Karl said.

In his speech, Mayor Nicholls highlighted investments in public safety, potential plans for a spaceport, and a local Panera Bread coming to town.

But I am most proud of the city’s efforts to implement comprehensive playground equipment.

“If a parent comes to you and says that my child should not only be able to access the park, but be able to engage with it, we need to listen to it,” Nichols said. rice field.
