Pima County, Arizona — A 17-year-old motorcyclist was hit and killed Sunday afternoon in Pima County.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the boy was driving north on Sandario Street when he was hit by a Chevrolet Trailblazer making a left turn onto Desert Wrens Drive.
A 17-year-old man on the motorcycle was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department announced that the 42-year-old Trailblazer driver had been arrested on suspicion of “fatal traffic violations.” The conflict is still under investigation.

ADOT’s proposals include:
- Do not speed or drive recklessly
- Never drive under the influence of substances
- Avoid distractions while driving
- Wear your seatbelt and make sure all passengers do the same
- Step aside when an emergency vehicle is on the side of the road
- Be especially careful in the work zone
- Be prepared for weather conditions that make driving dangerous
