SAFFORD — There have been many attempts over the years to create a useful resource guide for Graham County.
“The moment we put something out, it becomes obsolete,” said Rosa Contreras of the Graham County Health Department. “Whether it’s a staff turnover or a program change.”
Contreras said the solution is to use the latest technology. That’s why Phone 2-1-1 is the county’s new resource guide.
“If you need help with emergency services, call 9-1-1. If you need help (suicide intervention or) crisis (support), call 9-8-8. Please,” Contreras said. “2-1-1 is a confidential service that helps connect people to the services they need.”
Services include food, housing and utility assistance, health care, counseling and support groups, transportation, legal services, government services, disaster relief, and more.
To make 2-1-1 an essential service for Gila Valley residents, the Department of Health is asking service providers and service organizations to list their services and contact information. 211 Arizona | Graham County, Arizona.
