A third Bullhead woman filed papers declaring her intention to seek the Republican nomination for District 2 Mojave County Supervisor in the August 2024 primary. Ashley Gerich on Wednesday submitted a formal statement to the election office indicating Hildy Angius is interested in qualifying her as a candidate for the office she holds.
Angius announced that he would be running for the Arizona House of Representatives and would not be seeking another term as county superintendent. Gerich ran for mayor of Bullhead last year in a contest won by Steve D’Amico (4,078-2,161 votes).
Two other Bullhead women, Bullhead City Councilor Grace Hecht and former City Councilor Annette Wegman, declared themselves front-runners for the Angius seat in mid-March.
Gene Bishop, District 4 Supervisor, is also an incumbent who will be leaving the Mojave County Board at the end of his term next year. William Andrews, Jennifer Esposito, Logan Marsh, Marianne Salem, Tom Beller and Marvin Pitchfork Freedom are the District 4 candidates for the 2024 Republican primary.
