50 Cent Blasts NYC Mayor’s Migrant Policy, Softens On Trump

Famous rapper 50 Cent on Saturday slammed New York City Mayor Eric Adams' immigration policies while trying to soften his stance on former President Donald Trump.

In an Instagram post, 50 Cent said the Republican front-runner, who expressed confusion over New York City's new program to hand out prepaid credit cards to illegal immigrants, could be the “answer.”

“Oh my god Mayor Adams call my phone. I don't understand how this works,” 50 Cent wrote, along with a shrug emoji. “Someone please explain. Ari Melber can't explain this, but I think TRUMP is probably the answer.”

Undocumented immigrants participating in the program must sign an affidavit vowing to use their credit cards only for food and baby items, the newspaper said. Those who violate the affidavit will lose access to their credit cards, but the city says credit cards can only be used in shopping malls, grocery stores, supermarkets and convenience stores, the newspaper said. The program will reportedly replace the meal services currently offered by hotels.

50 Cent supported Trump in the 2020 presidential election after seeing Biden's tax plan, saying:[does not] Note that President Trump is said to “hate black people.” However, the artist withdrew his support a few days later in response to a video in which ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to discuss 50 Cent's support for Trump. 50 Cent captioned the video, “Fuck Donald Trump, I never liked him.” “As far as I know, he framed me and made me kill his friend Angel Fernandez and that's history. lol”
