Electric Cooperatives of Alabama back Tuberville in his campaign for governor

In his bid for the governorship of Alabama, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) recently received backing from a significant local organization. The Alabama Political Action Committee (PAC), affiliated with the Alabama Rural Cooperative Association, announced their support earlier this week.

According to the organization, this endorsement was unanimously approved by the PAC’s board of directors.

“In the U.S. Senate, Tuberville has been an advocate for reducing burdensome regulations, promoting essential infrastructure projects, and safeguarding the state’s energy security and economic vitality,” stated local CEO Carl Rayborn. “We believe he will continue to champion sensible energy policies as governor of rural Alabama, and we are proud to stand by him.”

Regional Vice President Sean Strickler also acknowledged Tuberville’s awareness of the necessity for robust energy infrastructure.

“Coaching requires addressing rising demands, which means investing in the grid, cutting unnecessary red tape, and laying down a solid groundwork for progress,” Strickler remarked. “He possesses the vision and determination needed to carry on with the positive initiatives currently underway in our state.”

Tuberville expressed his gratitude for the organization’s endorsement and pledged to assist Alabama in reaching its “energy potential.”

“We sincerely appreciate the support of the Alabama Electric Co-op,” Tuberville commented. “Our rural communities are the very essence of Alabama. Rising inflation and excessive energy regulations from the current administration have made life more challenging and pushed American jobs overseas.”

The Alabama Rural Cooperatives represent 22 member-owned power distribution cooperatives that deliver reliable and affordable electricity to over 1 million residents in Alabama. In collaboration with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Powersouth Energy Cooperative, and Southern Power, the organization aims to strengthen rural communities, advocate for sound energy policies, and contribute to nationwide economic growth.
