Pinal County Transportation Advisory Board Welcomes New Member
Maricopa has recently added new perspectives to its county transport board.
Supervisor Rich Vitiero announced the appointment of Tena Dugan from Glenwild to the Pinal County Transportation Advisory Committee during a meeting held on Wednesday.
This appointment has been anticipated for a while, according to Vitiero. Dugan’s previous involvement includes joining the Citizens’ Oversight Committee focused on voter-approved transportation taxes back in 2017. More recently, she has been active in the 347 Facts Committee, which aims to raise awareness and support for expanding the state’s Route 347.
Her extensive volunteer work played a significant role in her selection for the Transportation Advisory Committee.
“When it comes to transport, she’s engaged with the Route 347 initiative, which affects everyone in this county,” Vitiero remarked during the meeting. “She has colleagues who pay attention to the feedback she gathers.”
Dugan described transportation as “nearby and important,” emphasizing how her interests align well with the responsibilities of the role.
“We are one of the fastest-growing counties in the state, so it’s clear that our population needs attention. Roads and transportation are crucial,” she commented this morning.
As a member of the committee, Dugan will collaborate with Robin Davis from Hidden Valley and eight other residents of Pinal County to assess and recommend transportation projects to the Board of Supervisors. They convene quarterly, with the next meeting set for September 16th in Florence.
“I’m committed to representing Pinal County, particularly the western part, to ensure we listen to our residents,” Dugan stated. “I want to be part of the solution, so it’s vital that we share as much education and information as we can for the benefit of our county.”
