Trump Jr. Reacts to Assassination Claim
On Friday, Donald Trump Jr. shared his thoughts with Fox News host Martha MacCallum regarding the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA). Trump Jr. indicated that this incident signifies a failure by the left.
Authorities have apprehended Tyler Robinson, who is accused of fatally shooting Kirk during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. According to Trump Jr., Kirk’s assassination exemplifies what he termed a “fascist tactic.”
During the segment on “The Story,” he remarked, “Charlie and I have discussed this a lot, reflecting on the irony of anti-fascism. It’s almost as if they’re borrowing from the playbook of historical fascists.” He continued, “If someone disagrees with you, the response seems to be violence. That’s very much a fascist mentality. We should stop labeling them as anti-far; there’s clearly nothing anti-fascist about their actions.”
In previous election cycles, including the upcoming 2024 presidential race and the 2022 midterms, Democrats have branded President Trump and Republicans as threats to democracy. Trump Jr. argued that the increasing violence indicates a lack of innovative ideas from the left.
“Martha, they’ve completely missed the point. They know they’ve lost the argument. Instead of adapting or presenting better ideas, they’ve resorted to violence. And, honestly, it’s not a two-way street; it’s definitely one-sided,” he told MacCallum.
He continued, “This aggression stems from individuals aligned with the Democratic Party. The animosity is largely stirred up by Democrats, and you could find countless examples of that in media clips. Some outlets have already tried to revise their narratives, likely scrubbing past comments they made about Charlie, myself, and my dad.”
A user on X, known as “Westernlensman,” showcased a collection of statements from Democrats and left-leaning figures who accused President Trump and Republicans of fostering fascism. In a rant during a Democratic National Committee meeting in August, DNC Chair Ken Martin labeled the United States a “fascist administration.”
Trump Jr. commented, “You can’t label your opponents as the biggest threat to democracy and then pretend that the more radical factions aren’t contributing to that.”
Authorities reported finding a shell casing linked to the rifle said to have been used in the shooting, which bore a slogan associated with antifa and left-wing groups.
