Yavapai County Hosts First State of the County Event
On September 16, 2025, over 400 residents and business leaders gathered for Yavapai County’s inaugural State of the County event. Held at the Findrate Yota Centre, this gathering showcased county leaders’ focus on future planning and responsible financial practices. The day also featured a successful business expo and the introduction of community awards.
Chairman of the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors, Mary Mallory, spoke to the audience about the county’s proactive strategy for growth and service delivery. “We are proud to be laying the groundwork for Yavapai County through the introduction of our first strategic plan, facility master plan, and rural service master plan,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Vice-Chair Brooks Compton emphasized the importance of maintaining strong financial health. He pointed out that sound fiscal policies not only help in the present but also pave the way for future investments. “Thanks to responsible financial management, we recently earned a bond rating upgrade, which will lower costs for future capital projects,” Compton noted.
A significant highlight of this event was the presentation of a new community and collaboration award. Mallory presented the first award to Stephen and Sue Rutherford, recognizing their remarkable contributions to the community.
The gathering, attended by all five supervisors, also included a vibrant business exposition, creating numerous networking chances and discussions on upcoming business opportunities in the community.
