Yavapai County’s First State of the County Gathering

Yavapai County State of the County Event Highlights Community Commitment

On September 16, 2025, over 400 residents and business leaders came together at the Findrate Yota Centre for the Yavapai County State of the County event. This gathering emphasized the county’s dedication to thoughtful future planning and responsible fiscal management. A successful business expo was also part of the day, along with a new community award ceremony.

During the event, Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chairman Mary Mallory spoke to the audience about the county’s proactive strategies regarding growth and service delivery.

“I’m proud to say Yavapai County is taking significant steps towards planning for its future with our first-ever strategic plan, a facility master plan, and a rural service master plan,” Mallory stated.

Vice-Chair Brooks Compton pointed out that enhancing the county’s financial health and implementing solid fiscal policies are crucial for attracting future investments.

“When we manage finances well, it enables us to consider long-term community needs,” Compton noted. “Thanks to these initiatives, we’ve recently received a bond rating upgrade, which lowers costs for future capital projects.”

A highlight of the day was the inaugural presentation of the community and collaboration award. Chairman Mallory presented the first award to Stephen and Sue Rutherford, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the community.

All five supervisors were present at the event, indicating a unified approach among county leaders. Attendees also benefited from the business expo, which opened up networking avenues and discussed potential business prospects within the community.
