Joe Rogan Critiques Pregnant Women Using Tylenol
On Friday, podcast host Joe Rogan addressed the issue of pregnant women taking Tylenol, contrasting this behavior with recommendations from the Trump administration.
This discussion gained traction after new findings linked the use of acetaminophen by pregnant women to an increased autism diagnosis in children. Many TikTok users began taking Tylenol as a satirical response to Trump and Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Rogan attracted attention for sharing insights rooted in research from Harvard, which they cited as supporting evidence for these findings.
“I find it interesting watching these videos where pregnant women are taking Tylenol to mock Trump, signaling that they don’t trust what RFK Jr. is saying,” Rogan commented. “This science is not just made up—it’s backed by Harvard, and these women are engaging with it quite publicly on TikTok.”
The National Institutes of Health, under former President Biden, suggested that if pregnant women need to use acetaminophen, they should “minimize exposure by using the lowest effective dose in the shortest time possible.” Many TikTok videos viewed by the Daily Caller News Foundation showed users taking the advised amount. One video featured a pregnant woman preparing to take two capsules.
“As a pregnant woman, I’m taking Tylenol because I trust science, even though I don’t have a medical background,” another user expressed in a video.
Interestingly, the company that produces Tylenol acknowledged the potential link between the drug and neurodevelopmental disorders like autism several years ago. Rachel Weinstein, director of the US Epidemiology Department at Janssen, the pharmaceutical arm of Johnson & Johnson, stated, “The weight of evidence is starting to feel significant.”
While mainstream media and public health experts have dismissed the claims made by Trump and Kennedy, Tylenol manufacturers have recognized the evidence and even adjusted their messaging accordingly. On Monday, Trump stated, “It’s not advisable to take Tylenol, and because of this, we recommend that women minimize its use during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.”
