Trump States Israel Halted Bombing Gaza To Allow Peace Agreement A ‘Chance To Be Finished’

Trump Comments on Israel-Hamas Situation

On Saturday, President Donald Trump shared a post on True Social stating that Israel has “temporarily stopped the bombing” to allow for the release of hostages and to facilitate a peace agreement.

He mentioned that Israel urged Hamas on Friday to halt the bombing by Sunday at 6 p.m. as part of the broader peace talks. Although Hamas seems to have tentatively agreed to release remaining hostages under specific conditions, Trump emphasized the need for the group to act swiftly or face consequences.

“I am thankful that Israel paused the bombing,” Trump wrote. “Hamas needs to act quickly, or all bets are off. Delays won’t be tolerated. Many believe an agreement could lead to Gaza posing a threat again. Let’s get this done.”

Hamas indicated there might be a deal regarding the release of hostages and a potential abdication of power, though they mentioned that additional discussions on peace conditions are necessary. They also stressed the importance of adhering to the “unanimous Palestinian attitudes.” Reports surfaced on Friday suggesting Hamas’s stance on the peace agreement.

On the same day, Trump warned that should a last-minute agreement be reached, the response against Hamas would be unprecedented. He stated that based on recent communications from Hamas, they are open to pursuing lasting peace. He reiterated the call for Israel to cease bombing in Gaza.

Currently, Hamas is holding 48 hostages, with around 20 believed to be alive, according to the Associated Press.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry has not yet responded to inquiries regarding these developments.
