The La Paz County Sheriff’s Office has announced that it will escort Sgt. The body of Michael Rudd was returned to La Paz County on Wednesday from the Riverside County Coroner’s Office in Indio, Calif.
The office said it would depart around 2:00 pm, travel on Interstate 17 to the Quartzsite Boulevard exit, and head north on Quartzsite Main Street. The procession travels north on Highway 95 into Parker, then on Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Avenue to the Parker Funeral Home.
They are expected to arrive at Quartzsite between 3:40pm and 4:00pm and Parker between 4:20pm and 4:40pm, according to the office. .
The procession comes two days after a commercial vehicle fatally crashed into Rudd after the suspect he was pursuing was caught early Monday morning. It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with tracking.
Governor Doug Ducey has ordered the state flag to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday to honor Rudd.
