(CNN) A train allegedly carrying hazardous materials derailed in Mojave County, Arizona, near the California border, a sheriff’s office spokesperson confirmed Wednesday night.
No spills have been reported at this time, but recent storms have washed the area. Mojave County Sheriff’s Office.
The derailment occurred near Milepost 9 on Interstate 40, she said. The area is rural, non-residential. The highway exit has a few truck her stops and is about 20 miles north of Lake Havasu City.

Mortensen said the National Transportation Safety Board and freight rail network BNSF have been notified of the derailment and are responding to an investigation.
