All Sports Tucson strongly believes in the Pima County Health Department’s new initiative to address the mental health impact of COVID-19 and other societal factors on students of all ages and faculty.
An initiative created by the Pima County Health Department to “Not alone” A central message for young people struggling with mental health was acknowledged. Allsports, which focuses most of its coverage on youth and high school sports, wants to emphasize that his Tucson and his PCHD aren’t just for kids and young people.

Not Alone can offer free individual counseling sessions through COPE Community Services, Inc. Recipients can also participate in skill-building groups.Plus, Not Alone is partnering with Lady Gaga Born This Way FoundationProvides peer-to-peer support via Be There Certification Program.
“Recently published data on youth mental health is alarming,” said project director Matthew Schmidtgal“Suicide is the third leading cause of death among adolescents, and recently one in three high school students reported having poor mental health. It is designed and intended to connect young people to the resources they need.”
Arizona Senior Softball Captain Izzy Pacho She recently wrote about “The Life of a Student-Athlete” in a column series called “Izzy’s POV” for All Sports Tucsons. In her column, she writes about the struggles student-athletes go through and the pressures they put on themselves.
“Mental health is a huge topic for us athletes and one of the most important things we’ve learned to deal with,” Pacho wrote. I was just trying to get through each day because I thought, taking care of myself has become the norm and I have resources to help me with whatever I need.”
Pacho, from Tucsonan, has a line of t-shirts with “Homegrown: Izzy Pacho” and the words “You Are Enough” on the front and back.
She writes that she tells herself every day, “You’ve had enough.”
“I struggled early in college and felt like I wasn’t good enough for who I was or what I was doing,” she wrote. “It took me a long time to find myself and love myself for who I am. I want to spread love for my city and for each other. You are enough.”
