Gila County, Arizona — Rescuers have recovered the dog remains of an elderly couple who died last week in severe flooding in Gila County.
Phon and Dara Sutton were found dead on March 22. A couple and their dog were reported missing after they were unable to return home as part of Arizona was hit by rain.
The couple’s dog, Harriet, remained missing after Von and Dara were found near the Bear Flat neighborhood.
Gila County Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday that a Humane Animal Rescue and Capture team recently found and recovered Harriet’s body. Tongtrim search and rescue The team helped return the deceased dog’s remains to the couple’s family.
