COCHISE COUNTY – A missing 75-year-old vulnerable Tucson man was found safe by the Graham County Search and Rescue Team Wednesday night.
Michael Nichols has been missing since Monday and was last seen driving a silver 2011 Chevy HHR.
Nichols’ car was found Wednesday after citizens reported seeing it parked for hours on the side of U.S. Route 191. The vehicle was parked just inside Cochise County near Milepost 92.
According to a news release from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers learned that the vehicle was linked to a silver alert out of Tucson for Nichols, and a Graham County search and rescue team began. it was done.
The team arrived at the scene at about 7:20 p.m. and soon after found Nichols in the desert about 1.5 miles east of the highway. Nichols was taken to a Cochise County hospital for treatment due to exposure and medical needs.
