FLAGSTAFF, Arizona — The Coconino County Board of Supervisors adopted the final map of the reorganization map on April 12th.
The Board has begun the reorganization process in the fall of 2021.
In accordance with ARS § 11-212, county supervisory districts must be redrawed every ten years so that each district has a substantially equal population.
The Board adopted Map Scenario F from five proposed draft maps submitted for public comment in March. Draft maps under consideration by the Board of Oversight are available at coconino.az.gov/redistricting.
“The Board has adopted a final map that reflects the tastes and interests of our community. We have confirmed that,” said Board Chair Patrice Horstmann. “Map Scenario F sustains communities of interest, provides contiguous and compact districts, and reflects the support expressed in public her comments received by the Board.”
The public input period was open until April 12th. In total, approximately 102 public comments were received on the draft map submitted to redistricting@coconino.az.gov.
Four virtual public input meetings were held during March.
