TUCSON, Arizona — The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said it was investigating the death of a Pima County inmate over the weekend.

Guards reportedly found an unresponsive man in his cell at the Pima County Adult Detention Center early Saturday morning.

Prison officials initiated first aid, but the Tucson Fire Department confirmed the man was dead at the scene, officials said.

So far, detectives have found no signs of trauma or suspicious circumstances in the man’s death. However, authorities have not released an official cause of death.

The man’s identity will not be made public until his next of kin are notified.
