Disgraced Former FBI Director Who Signed Faulty Warrants Claims Trump Will Weaponize The DOJ

Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey said on MSNBC Sunday that former President Donald Trump would prosecute political opponents if he is re-elected.

Comey joined “Inside With Gen Psaki” to discuss a possible Trump presidency in 2024 and answer questions about what another term might look like.

“You say Trump poses an almost existential threat to the rule of law, but this is what I’ve personally heard from national security officials and some you and I know. It’s a word similar to “Who would say this in person a few seconds ago?” the term could mean. But tell us a little bit about the specific things he’s trying to do. What does that mean? Psaki asked. “Think of what four years as a reprisal president would be like. He could order investigations and prosecutions of individuals he deemed enemies. I’m pretty sure I’m on the enemy list because it has full control over the executive branch, including investigators.. So he could directly order individuals to be tracked. It can also direct all sorts of other acts that people might try to bring to court, but who enforces court orders? It’s the Federal Marshals Agency, which reports directly to the president,” Comey said, warning that President Trump would “destroy” the country.

Comey, then head of the FBI, omitted important details about former British spy Christopher Steele and his notorious dossier from a declassified intelligence agency assessment of alleged Russian interference in 2016. . The document did not disclose information the FBI had about Steele. That would have probably raised questions about his motives and the legitimacy of his claims.

Comey also authorized a surveillance warrant against former Trump aide Carter Page, who relied heavily on the Steele dossier. The Department of Justice subsequently found two FISA orders against Page invalid, including orders authorized by Comey.

Comey also admitted in 2017 to leaking memos about his meeting with President Trump to the New York Times. Comey also said Trump “obviously” deserves to go to jail in 2021.
