Arizona police this week tracked down and arrested a motorcyclist along Interstate 10 at Casa Grande who authorities said was repeatedly driving over 150 mph on the day of his arrest.
Casa Grande owner Kevin Keaton, 34, was stopped with the assistance of a Ranger 1 helicopter around 5 a.m. on June 7, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The helicopter crew began chasing the motorcyclist heading east on Florence Boulevard at the Casa Grande. Officials said the suspect was seen speeding, illegally overtaking a vehicle on the shoulder, and exiting the 194-mile post onto Interstate 10 westbound.
“Upon entering the interstate, the Ranger 1 crew observed the suspect traveling at speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour and relayed its speed and location to officers on the ground,” DPS said in a release. The suspect stopped near milepost 190.
DPS officials said he was incarcerated at the Pinal County Jail on speeding charges. Bike was detained for 20 days.
